GRUDGE OF DRONG PDF

I previously wrote a post about the Tears of Isha boxed campaign, and thought that I would follow it up with an entry about the other campaign that I managed to get a hold of, The Grudge of Drong. If you read my previous review, this one is pretty much the same thing, just with a different and different armies. This particular campaign was designed to be played with 3, points of High Elves and Dwarfs, but that could be adjusted to whatever points level suited you. Campaign book — This tells the story and battles for the campaign, along with sample armies used in the campaign. Battle scroll — This contains rules for the special characters in the story, as well as force selection guidelines.

Punch-out terrain — Various Dwarf buildings brewhouse, ale store, and drinking hall are provided that you can punch out and fold up. The premise for this campaign is that two Dwarfen clans have a deep grudge against each other. One of the clans imposed a tax upon the other when traveling through the mountain pass to sell their goods. However, the Elves landed and set up a colony, so the taxed clan no longer needed to travel through the pass since they could trade with the Elves instead. The campaign is focused more on the Dwarfen perspective, with the Elves mostly being present for somebody to fight against.

Like the Tears of Isha campaign, the campaign is split into four different battles. The results of the first three battles determine advantages for the final battle. The overall campaign winner is determined only by the last battle, but winning the earlier battles with give you advantages in the final battle. There are 3 different point sizes for the battles: 1, for the first and third ; 1, for the second; and the final battle can be up to 3, depending on how previous battles in the campaign have concluded.

My thoughts for this campaign are pretty similar to those for Tears of Isha. It is another good example for a would-be campaign creator, a good guideline on how to make a campaign. I think that it would be nice if GW would start releasing things like this in the current edition.

On a side note, it was interesting to see the names of the Elven characters in the book. Previously, when looking at eBay auctions for High Elves, I would occasionally see the names of Ardath and Eldroth for some models, which seemed a little strange, since I never saw their names mentioned in the Army Books as special characters.

It would seem that those models were created for when this campaign was released. You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. You are commenting using your Twitter account. You are commenting using your Facebook account.

Warhammer the Grudge of Drong

The campaigns of the edition were notoriously popular, and lead to a major boost in the playerbase of the game. The campaign consists of four battles, with each affecting the details of the final battle. It was notable for being one of the last times Games Workshop included free punch-out paper scenery rather than advertising for preexisting overpriced sets. There they found a mountain rich in gold and gems, among the richest the Dwarfs had ever seen.
